For joining the Indian Army candidates have to clear all the tests i.e. Common entrance exam (CEE), Physical test, & Medical test. Indian Army Soldier Clerk is more similar to the desk job in a company. Therefore, there is more paperwork as compared to the physical work.

(I) Educational Qualification
For joining the Indian Army Soldier Clerk the educational criteria are as follows:

This means you should have cleared the 50% in all the main subjects & overall 60% in class 12th. Also, you should have Math or Accounts or Book-keeping as the main subject in class 12th. This means you have to score 50 or more than 50 marks in all of your main subjects.
(II) Age Qualification
For joining the Indian Army Clerk, a candidate should be between 17½ years to 23 years. The age of a candidate must be fall between the criteria mentioned in the form.

(III) Marital Qualification
The candidate must be single (unmarried) for joining the Indian Army Clerk.
(IV) Nationality Qualification
Criteria regarding the nationality of candidates are listed below:

Note: Although, candidates should have the certificate of citizen issued by the Indian government, except Gorkha citizens of Nepal.

Physical Fitness Test
It is an important step for all the candidates, after filling the application form you have to go to the ground where the rally is being held. Afterward, they start to test the physical fitness of the candidates. All the candidates need to qualify in some tests are as follows:
- 1.6 Km run
- Zig-Zag Balance
- 9 Fit Ditch Jump
1. 1.6 Km run
Firstly, they create groups for all the present candidates on the ground. Afterward, they tell you to run with all the candidates in your group.
Therefore, you have to cross every candidate and complete the run in the given time. So, for completing this test there is a 400-meter ground in which you have to take 4 rounds, In other words, you have to complete a 1600 meter run in a given time.
Following is the table according to the category, timing, & marks:

All the candidates who cleared the 1.6 Km run can get a chance for this test. You have to score 6 pull-ups to clear this test. Moreover, do as many pull-ups as you can for getting more marks. Each pull-up contains marks accordingly.

3. Zig-Zag Balance
In this candidates only need to qualify. However in this candidates only need to walk on the wooden stand in the shape of a zig-zag. For passing this you have 3 attempts.
4. 9 Feet Ditch
In this type of test, the candidate needs to jump the 9 feet ditch or pit. It tests that how long you can jump. For this test, you also have the 3 attempts. Moreover, you only need to qualify for this test.
(VI) Medical Qualification
For joining the Indian Army Clerk you have to keep in mind some points as follows:
- The candidate should have a strong physique and good mental health.
- The chest should be well developed having a minimum of 5 cms expansion.
- Should have enough number of natural healthy gum and teeth i.e. a minimum of 14 dental points.
- Should not have diseases like deformity of bones, hydrocele and varicocele or piles.
- He should have normal hearing with each ear and good binocular vision in both eyes. He should be able to read 6/6 in a distant vision chart with each eye.
- The candidate should not have any disease related to the heart, liver, lungs, vessels, kidneys, spleen, etc.
- A candidate should not have knock knees, Flatfoot, etc.

Some Important Medical Instruction
All the candidates are advised to resolve the issues before reporting for the medical test are as follows:
- Clear the wax of both ears.
- Get treated for the hernia, hydrocele, or any skin disease.
- Private parts should be cleaned, In other words, nobody hair on private parts.
- Please take a proper bath on the day of the exam.
Permanent body tattoos are only allowed on the inner face of forearms i.e From the inside of the elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of the palm/backside of the hand.
Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable and candidates will be rejected.

(VII) Written Qualification
For the written exam, you have to download the admit card from the official website of the Indian Army. You can check here all the steps needed to download the admit card.
After downloading the admit card there are some points you should keep in mind before giving the examination:
- The exam contains 2 parts.
- The First part contains questions related to GK, General science, maths, and computer science.
- The Second Part contains questions related to General English.
- A candidate has to get 32 marks in each part to pass.
- The total time given for the exam is 60 minutes (1 hour).
- The total number of questions is 50 which of 200 marks.
- All the sections contain different numbers of questions & marks accordingly i.e. G.K (5 questions with 20 marks), G.S (5 questions with 20 marks), Mathematics (10 questions with 40 marks), Computer (5 questions with 20 marks), & English (25 questions for 100 marks).
